… Gegen den Lärm der Welt setzte Giacinto Scelsi seinen eigenen Lärm und forschte im Innern des Klangs. Das französische Trio Foltz/Oliva/Chevillon interpretiert keine Werke des 1988 verstorbenen Komponisten, sondern improvisiert über "Scelsis Atem" und bewegt sich ganz intuitiv durch Scelsis Mikrokosmos …

Jean-Marc Foltz, Spezialist für zeitgenössische Musik (er spielte u. a. mit dem Ensemble Intercontemporain, arbeitete mit Komponisten wie Aperghis, Boulez, K. Huber …) und seit Jahren auch im Jazz- und Improvisationskontext kein Unbekannter (Jaap Blonk, John Surman, Dino Saluzzi gehören u.a. zu seinen Partnern), schloss sich 2000 mit Stéphan Oliva und Bruno Chevillon zusammen. Ersterer wurde u.a. mit dem "Django d'or" als "Most promising artist of the year 1992" ausgezeichnet und spielt mit Paul Motian, Joey Baron … wie auch einem der atemberaubendsten Bassisten nicht nur der französischen Szene: Bruno Chevillon - seines Zeichens wiederum Partner von keinen geringeren als Michel Portal, Louis Sclavis, Daniel Humair, Marc Ducret …

Sound is the first movement of the immobile … Scelsi touches the very soul of the musician who improvises; his music arises from the inside of the sound.
